Fotor, the Photo Editor You Need to Know About

I use the image editor available on Fotor all the time. I consider it to be one of the best free online editors available. It has many features and tools that were initially designed specifically for photos but has drastically expanded to be used to edit all types of images. Some of its features include multiple font options, templates for social media posts, image shapes, a library of sticker overlays, the ability to download your own images and overlays, size adjustments, cropping, lighting effects, a transparency tool, background remover, portrait retouching, filters, and so much more!

The best part of the program is that once you create an account, it is free to use forever without being limited to a trial like other online editors. The majority of these features are free for anyone to use. However, there is an option to upgrade your account to have access to everything Fotor has to offer. The simplicity of the website makes it more user-friendly than other premium editors. This is the perfect option for someone new to editing but has enough features to fit most professional’s needs.

Fotor is a Chinese company, but it supports many languages including English. This is important because there are many articles on Fotor that give users inspiration on how to utilize the software to help them achieve their goals. A very relevant example is this article that explains in detail how to use Fotor to add watermarks to images. Adding watermarks, branding, or copyright info on images is very important for all types of users.

My one complaint about Fotor is that there isn’t a tool for color grading sticker overlays. It is something that I’ve been able to utilize on other editors but Fotor doesn’t offer this type of tool. It’s something that is not common enough to be included, but anyone with experience with that type of tool knows it can drastically improve an image.

Overall, it’s a great editor that should meet the majority of people’s needs and I highly recommend it.

The COVID-19 Struggle

Being a full-time student during a global pandemic takes its toll. I was fortunate enough to be taking my classes at SUU as a full-time online student before the pandemic hit. That meant that my classes were not affected by the virus at all. Normally that would have been a good thing, but I watched as many professors were giving their students all kinds of breaks while the only break I got was a professor rounding a 89.9% up to an A-. I had to finish Spring finals week the same week that my grandmother, who raised me when I was younger, died. I was taking exams and writing research papers while my mother was crying because of her mom’s death. I was not able to visit my grandmother in the hospital because of the virus. I watched the funeral through an online stream. Then during the first week of Summer classes my grandfather died. I also had to watch his funeral through a live stream. The family deaths have definitely been the biggest impact of Covid-19 in my life. I’m stressed out ev...

The Fear of Failure

It has been a goal of mine for a while to start my own business. I have been putting it off for a few years now. Every time I think about it, I create dozens of excuses to convince myself that if I were to start today, I wouldn’t succeed. I’m too busy doing homework. Even if I could manage to spend one or two hours a day on my business, would that be enough time to get anything done? Should I sacrifice my effort and time to a business that statistically will fail? Those are only a few examples of dozens of excuses that run through my mind. I’ve made a few realizations through my time in college that specifically relate to businesses. Here they are: 1. You don’t have to be smart to run a successful business. A smart person will understand that its risks outweigh the rewards. However, someone with a dream won’t stop because they have failed. They will take as many risks as needed to achieve their goals. 2. It’s better to start today. You will fail and it’s better to fail early. 3...
